Senior High School Visual Arts students from St. Scholastica’s College (SSC) Manila held their exhibit entitled “Reverie” from May 12 to May 18, 2023 at the school’s Social Hall and Amerhein Gallery.
The art exhibit featured the artworks created by the students in the Arts and Design track throughout their senior high school years. The artwork is separated into four different themes, namely: Bright, Soft, Edgy, and Crossover, all of which is centered around the theme of the multiverse.
"Reverie" is a manifestation of the artists' subconscious; in the midst of a chaotic environment, artists are tranced by their wishful thinking, dreaming of ways to improve the world through their art. Through this exhibition, the artists are able to express themselves through their artwork and bring their ideas to life while creating their own universes.

The school’s Arts and Design Track Coordinator, Chrstine Joan Javier, stated that the theme “Reverie” was inspired by the concept of a “daydream.”
“They wanted to convey yung different na mga musings nila, alam niyo yung parang pag nag da-daydream tayo, we let our mind wander,” she said.
The idea of artworks in this exhibition is that there can be beauty even in the midst of turmoil.
Although the students' various artistic approaches highlighted their individuality, they were all unified by the same theme: the desire for a better world.
Amparo Roxas, 17, claims to have spearheaded the exhibit. The fundings were provided by the school and Amparo said that it was disseminated with the designs and decorations.
“We were strapped for time,” she said, emphasizing that they had to juggle their finals with preparing for the exhibit.
“We only set it up for not even a day, mga seven hours. We actually have our finals on Friday, the same day of the exhibit, so the day before our finals we spent like two to three hours setting up the exhibit,” she added.
Despite the last minute preparations, their class was able to pull it off, even having their exhibit featured in Manila Bulletin.
